TELECASTING, PART ONE

It's not REALLY a podcast, since there's only one song and I don't talk or anything, but check out...

Scientific True Love

...the first Telecasting podcast. I'm thinking of using this whole podcast thing as a cheap way to let artists, friends, potential clients, etc. hear what we're working on. Maybe I'll put some spiffy intro words on the next one, but for now enjoy and let me know your thoughts.

This song was written by Nadine, drums and bass recorded live, Ted and I did some extra guitars (the "solo" is a placeholder). This mix was done last night.

THAT is an excellent tune!!! Very well done. I really like her voice. Smokier that the Cranberries chick and more sincere. Really catchy. I'd be hard pressed to add to much more to it, but I do hear a little retro synth solo vs. guitar in that solo section. You know, the twisting knobs, ELP, kind of thing.

Great job. Glad you're considering utilizing the podcast format.

Wow, that was some quick feedback!

Thank you for the kind words.

What might be fun is to do a podcast that starts with the original mix (what they left with the night it was recorded) and segues to the new mix. In this case, it's a really significant difference.

I like the synth vs. guitar solo idea...

Oh, yes. Geek Farm.

The producer for that project (Jackson) is currently vacationing out in the Hamptons. And with all the work he has to do on his podcasts, all that music to download from Limewire, there's precious little time for things like clients.

Kidding, I'm kidding.

Seriously, I'm happy to put some of the tracks up. Ted and I have done a fair amount of work on 'em. I've been a little hesitant without some final vocals, but what the hell.

I think we can (and should) encourage the singer to press on.

It's funny, it's very easy for me sing when I'm the one recording, but much harder when I'm being produced by others (like George vitray, who's producing "Brain Shivers," the record we've been working on for over a year now). Definitely something psychological that you have to constantly dance around.

Those producers... Always vacationing in the Hamptons and avoiding work.

Man, Jackson is taking some blows to the body for the Dave Matthews show. I hope he doesn't end having the tour bus empty it's septic tank on him while he grooving to the jams.

Many frat boys, but fortunately they brought their women, so it wasn't a total washout. No flashing though. Bummer.

Ted saw Bare Naked Ladies! Ted saw Bare Naked Ladies! (the band, I mean, based on his previous post)

If this isn't fuel for ridicule, I don't know what is.
